Safe At Home
Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) is a nonprofit organization that has been providing critical home repairs for over 30 years. At no cost to income-qualified homeowners, RTP provides safe and healthy housing-related renovations for our vulnerable neighbors throughout the San Francisco Peninsula’s San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County.
Our year-round Safe at Home program addresses minor repairs before they become larger, more costly issues. In doing so, we help preserve affordable home ownership, often including for seniors, veterans, and families experiencing disabilities in the home.
With the support of skilled volunteers and our AmeriCorps Members, RTP’s Safe at Home program services approximately 130 homes each year. Repairs typically include:
- Accessibility modifications, including grab bar and safety-related installation
- Debris removal
- Fence repair
- Basic home maintenance
- Exterior painting
- Light yard work
- Minor plumbing and electrical work
- Heating repair
- Window repair and replacement
- Door repair and replacement
- Energy efficiency measures.
“Thank you again. We all appreciate you for all the hard work you do to make our homes better, which improves our lives and well-being!”
