Safe At Home
Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) is a nonprofit organization that has been providing free repairs for income-eligible homeowners for over 30 years. RTP provides year-round safe and healthy housing-related repairs for vulnerable homeowners throughout the San Francisco Peninsula’s San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County.
Our Safe at Home minor home repair program often addresses the needs of seniors, veterans, and families experiencing disabilities. In doing so, we also help preserve affordable home ownership by addressing repairs before they become larger, more costly issues.
With the support of skilled volunteers and our AmeriCorps Members, RTP’s Safe at Home program services approximately 130 homes each year. Repairs typically include:
- Debris removal
- Fence repair
- Basic home maintenance
- Exterior painting
- Light yard work
- Minor plumbing and electrical work
- Heating repair
- Window repair and replacement
- Door repair and replacement
- Energy efficiency measures
- Some accessibility modifications.
“Thank you again. We all appreciate you for all the hard work you do to make our homes better, which improves our lives and well-being!”
