Making a difference in the lives of millions starts when you make a change in yours. That’s the belief that led Sebastien Jean to Rebuilding Together Peninsula where he is volunteering for 11 months as an AmeriCorps member and Program Coordinator. “The opportunity to work at RTP and serve communities throughout the Peninsula has already given me an idea of the positive impact we have on everyone involved,” he said. “During my time here, I hope to learn more about the structure of the program. Having a similar program back at home in Haiti would help the less fortunate.”
Sebastien graduated from Arizona State University in 2022 with a degree in Economics and Finance. Equipped with a strong background in data statistics, he went on to work at Institut haïtien d’observatoire de politiques publiques, an organization that contributes to the awareness and education of the Haitian population. During that time, he worked on public policy issues at the local and national level.
Sebastien is passionate about helping others. In the future, he plans to pursue a career as an economic consultant and serial entrepreneur.
