Future Leaders Council

About Us

Through volunteer opportunities, fundraising initiatives and member-led events, the Future Leaders Council (FLC) supports RTP’s mission by demonstrating passion for safe and healthy homes, preserving affordable housing, and community revitalization through activities that contribute to building prosperous communities. RTP’s goal is to develop the next generation of philanthropic leaders who are committed to ensuring their neighbors in need are living in safe and healthy homes.

What We Do

National Rebuilding Day

Each year our Future Leaders Council volunteers for National Rebuilding Day (NRD) in a variety of ways. From serving as Construction Captains to lead repair projects at the home and community facilities of our neighbors, to volunteering as a 'runner' to bring supplies to project sites during NRD, to helping us document the day with their videography and photography skills, to volunteering their time as a DJ at our picnic celebration at the end of the day, we're always finding new ways to support RTP and the community on National Rebuilding Day.

Spread the Love Build, February 2017

In celebration of the love we hold for our Peninsula community, we spent Valentine's Day helping one of our neighboring community organizations repair their community facility. We helped LifeMoves' restore their First Step for Families transitional housing shelter into a safe and healthy living space.

Nachos Happen, May 2017

We rallied our friends and neighbors for this fundraiser at Nachoria in Burlingame. We had a blast sharing nachos, competing in a raffle, and building community with our guests; we even raised some money for RTP's programs!

Drinks Happen, June 2017

We supported RTP's biennual fundraiser, Dreams Happen, by creating Drinks Happen, an afterparty to the gala and playhouse auction complete with desserts from various shops at Stanford Shopping Center, a DJ, an ice luge and open bar, cozy evening seating, and Nitro Man! 2017 marked our inaugural Drinks Happen and it was a hit. We can't wait to plan 2019's Drinks Happen!
