General Volunteers
Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) relies on your generosity to ensure that our low-income community members live independently in safety and warmth. Whether you volunteer on a project site or in the office or warehouse, you will make a difference as we work together to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for our neighbors in need.

General Volunteers provide critical support for National Rebuilding Day in April and Team Build days throughout the year. Our sponsors recruit the majority of our General Volunteers and also provide a Volunteer Captain to coordinate volunteer days.

If you would like to volunteer but you are not associated with a sponsoring organization, then we will identify a work site for you based on the greatest need. We ask for some flexibility regarding your project location and time because some of our greatest needs may come with only a week's notice. Our requirements include energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to tackle any task and get dirty. The time commitment is from 8:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m. on the project day.

Office Volunteers serve in a number of capacities to help us to prepare for National Rebuilding Day and Team Build days. Volunteers assist with community outreach, organizing volunteer and sponsor appreciation events, mailings, data entry, and other special projects depending on volunteer skills and interests. The time commitment for year-round office support is flexible.

Warehouse Volunteers help us organize, inventory, and maintain our materials and supplies year-round in groups of 5-20 volunteers. Each year we reuse paint sundries and cleaning supplies from the previous year's National Rebuilding Day. Additionally, Warehouse Volunteers assist in picking-up donations of construction materials. Work is done in 4 hour shifts.
