Designed to be both beautiful and durable, the playhouses are expertly constructed under the watchful eyes of professional builders and architects. Playhouses have a maximum footprint of 8’x10’ and may be up to 10’6” tall. Many incorporate play features such as slides or climbing walls and nearly all have operational doors and windows. Each is custom designed with beautiful enhancements that uniquely distinguish it from any other playhouse.
There are fifteen playhouses for Dreams Happen 2011. Fourteen will be auctioned during the Auction & Gala on June 4, 2011 while the fifteenth will be raffled. Tickets for the Raffle House are $5 each. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Gala on June 4, and the winner need not be present to win.
Since 1993, Stanford Shopping Center has co-sponsored and produced the biennial Dreams Happen event benefiting Rebuilding Together Peninsula. Each playhouse is custom and has sold from $13,000 to $71,000. Over the past 18 years, Dreams Happen has raised over $2.8 million for Rebuilding Together Peninsula and been instrumental to the preservation of affordable housing in the Bay Area peninsula. Bidding begins at $5,000.
